wow I haven't updated in a while.
this weekend was fun. friday i went to a reggae show w/ zack, it was pretty fun.
i slept way too late on saturday, and went to the mall and got some cute clothes, i ♥ torrid! then we took our new hires out. which was fun. i was kinda disappointed b/c none of them liked to dance. ran into kristin though, so she danced w/ me all night. the complaints were great as always. they played sugar we're going down! i freaked of course. but i was the only person singing it. i was excited at first b/c i thought everyone would know it.

on an unrelated note, i went to hob.com to buy tickets for the fall out boy show and its SOLD OUT!

UGH. i didn't expect it to sell out, since the last NC show i went to (besides warped) there were about 150 people maybe. i hate mtv!

We gave it our best shot. Senator Kerry today said that now we need to come together and heal as a nation. FUCK THAT. There's no fucking way I am going to come together with these homophobic, flag-waving, god-fearing, gun-toting, uneducated, isolationist, ethnocentric REDNECKS. We live in a country that's in a shroud of ignorance. We do not compromise or come together with them. We fight them and everything they stand for. We as a community have to take care of each other and respect each other because apparently our current government has no interest in that. They do not care about gay people, they do not care about sick people, they do not care about black people, they do not care about poor people, they do not care about the rest of the world, they do not care about our environment, and they especially don't care about a woman's right to choose. We may have lost the battle, shit we may have lost the war...but we are not losing our minds. WE ARE RIGHT...THEY ARE WRONG...just because we seem to be the minority doesn't mean we come together with them. We continue to fight….and drink...and try to have a good fucking time. That's my plan anyway, thanx to you all, Fat Mike

[feelin' kinda |goodgood]

Today has been pretty fun so far.

I got up kinda early, showered, and crammed some more for my marketing exam. I headed over to campus, got a new parking sticker for my new car (oh yeah - I finally got my car!!) and bought the textbook for my marketing class finally. Then I went to Cameron (the biz school building) and studied some more and talked to some friends. My friend Jon is getting an Audi that is pretty much exactly like my new car. Kinda cool. The exam wasn't so bad, then I headed home to wrap a b-day present for Chris. I talked to Michelle while I was home, and we decided to go to Pita Delite for some lunch. Which was scrumptious, again. Then I came to work. I assembled a big cubby thingie, which was kinda fun.

Tonight I'm going to the gym and grocery store. Big fun for me.

I wanna go see a movie. Anybody seen anything good or bad lately?

Geez, buying a car is STRESSFUL! I'm glad I won't have to do this again for a while. Jeremy (my salesman) called me today, and said my credit was perfect, and they didn't have to use my recent-college grad status to get me the 1.9%. So evidently that's good, because it's less work for him. He also said my car was in their body/paint shop. I'm just REALLY hoping my broker can come thru for us. We are taking money out of my investment account for the downpayment, and I so hope he can rush it, and get me the money before Friday. Cause Jeremy is expecting me on Saturday (I have to freakin' DAY TRIP) to come sign the papers.

I'm housesitting for my hair stylist, he has 2 dogs and 1 kitty. That starts this Friday. I'd completely forgotten about that when I bought the car and stuff. Soooo IF my broker comes thru, I'll have to drive 4 hours to Charlotte and 4 hours back here on Saturday. And Mom may make me wait ANOTHER week to get my car! They are nervous b/c its a used car. I say boo to that!! Hopefully Daddy will let me bring my car back.

Today I was training my replacement at work. I was trying not to overwhelm her too badly, but there is A LOT for her to learn. I have 2 more full days with her before I start back to class, and she will be on her own for 1/2 the day.

Anyways, I'm tired, I'm going to bed soooooon.

I GOT A NEW CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [May. 16th, 2004|01:16 pm]

Woohoo for Caryn!! On the way to Charlotte this weekend w/ Mere, the guy from the VW dealership called me, and said he knows how much I liked that Jetta I drove, and that they wanted to make me an offer. He knew I wasn't planning on buying until september, so they were gonna write me a check for my car payments until October. That deal was what got my parents to the dealership, but we ended up not taking that deal. I drove a 2004 Passat 4 cylinder, 1.8 turbo, that i LOVED. I even picked out the color I wanted. But those payments were going to be SO high, and I got the lowest rate 1.9%. Soooo....Jeremy showed me a 2001 V6 Passat. The mileage was really low and i fell in love with it. So we bought it :) Hopefully I get to pick it up next weekend. I'm soooooooo super excited. Anyways, here's pics:

One of the best songs EVER, i think [May. 12th, 2004|02:09 pm]

[feelin' kinda |contentcontent]

"At the Stars" by Better than Ezra

Maybe I should drop you at your door
or leave tonight and vanish up the shore
anywhere but here.

It's three o'clock we're driving in your car,
you're screaming out the window at the stars,
"please don't drive me home!"

Blame us 'cause we are - who we are
hate us 'cause you'll never get that far
and who'd suppose that you would go?
I've already learned enough to know.

Tell me all the places we could go
and count the headlights passing on the road
a long, long time ago

Blame us 'cause we are - who we are
hate us 'cause you'll never get that far
and who'd suppose that you would go?
I've already learned enough to know.

Here we are
foreign to their world
straight and composed
your sermons i can do withouth
and i've finally found
that everybody loves to love you
when you're far away...

Could it be we've done something wrong?
we'd make it back to your place before dawn
"please don't take me home"
"please don't take me home"

Blame us 'cause we are - who we are
hate us 'cause you'll never get that far
and who'd suppose that you would go?
I've already learned enough to know.

God I love this song so. My old best friend and I used to listen to it all the time, and contemplate running away (this was in college). Heh...we never did, obviously.
I have a Howie Day cover of it that I listen to almost every day.
*sigh* :)
